
China-based mobile handset manufacturer, vivo Mobile is targeting a market share of 5-6 per cent in the Indian smartphone industry by 2017. In this regard, the company has set up its distribution and service network in 20 states in the country with 50,000 touch points with an initial investment of Rs 200 million.
The manufacturer entered the Indian mobile market with the launch of vivo X5 Max in December 2014. According to the company, the entry into the Indian market is part of its global expansion strategy, given the high demand for smartphones in the country.
