Uber is setting up its first data centre in India in partnership with the Adani Group, the company’s chief executive officer (CEO) said on May 13, 2026, marking a significant expansion of its infrastructure presence in one of its fastest-growing markets.

The CEO said the investment would help the company build at scale from India for the world, and added that the facility would be ready later this year. The announcement comes as global technology companies increasingly deepen their India infrastructure commitments amid rising demand for cloud, artificial intelligence (AI) and data processing capacity. It also adds to the Adani Group’s growing ambitions in digital infrastructure, spanning data centres and connectivity.

Uber already operates large technology and engineering teams in India, with Bengaluru serving as one of its biggest global tech hubs outside the United States. The company has been expanding its India offerings across mobility, logistics and electric mobility, while also using the country as a key base for engineering and product development.

Further, the announcement places Uber within a broader wave of data centre investments in India, driven by rising demand for AI, cloud and high-performance computing capacity. For the Adani Group, the partnership further advances its wider ambitions around AI infrastructure and data centres.
