Bharti Airtel has reappointed its founder, Sunil Bharti Mittal, as chairman of the board for a further five years until September 30, 2031, according to a regulatory filing by the company.
Mittal’s current term as chairman was due to expire on September 30, 2026. He founded Bharti Group in 1976, since when the conglomerate has expanded into multiple segments including telecom, digital infrastructure, satellite communications and financial services.
Additionally, the board approved the reappointment of Nisaba Godrej as an independent director for a second term of five years, running from August 04, 2026 to August 03, 2031, subject to shareholder approval.
