The Joint Parliamentary Committee asks agencies for a progress report on the 2G issue

 The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) has asked all the agencies examining the 2G spectrum issue to keep it updated on the progress of their investigations.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Board for Direct Taxes (CBDT) are scrutinising various aspects of the alleged irregularities in 2G spectrum allocation. The probe is being monitored by the Supreme Court.

In so far, the CBDT has made a presentation before the JPC and the CBI will now be asked to update the Committee on the progress it has made in its investigation of the 2G spectrum issue.
