Telecom Italia has bought a licence for radio frequencies allowing it to add high speed wireless internet services to its existing portfolio of cellular phone operations in Brazil. The company has paid $211 million for one of the four licences to operate in Brazil’s south and central-west regions. Telecom Italia bought the rights at an auction held by Brazil’s telecommunications services regulator, Anatel.
