TDSAT has refused to grant ISPs a stay on the government order T asking ISPs to stop offering VPN services unless they have a licence to do so. TDSAT has asked DoT to extend the last date for compliance on VPN services by another two weeks. The original date for compliance was February 17, 2005. The tribunal will decide on the merit of the issue on March 17. DoT had earlier issued an order saying ISPs could offer VPN services only after paying an entry and licence fee.
