Sony is looking at generating revenue of about Rs 35 billion from sales of its Xperia smartphones in 2013.

The company recently launched Xperia Z smartphone priced at Rs 38, 990. With the launch of the Xperia Z smartphone, Sony is looking at tripling the sale of smartphones launched under the ?Xperia? brand.

In its effort to triple the sales of the Xperia smartphones, the company has earmarked a marketing budget of Rs 3 billion. Further, by the end of 2013, Sony plans to double its sales channel counters to 8,000 and increase the service touch points to 300.

The company, also plans to launch 4G-enabled Xperia tablet Z in May 2013.
