Nokia, the second lowest bidder for BSNL’s GSM tender, has reportedly turned down BSNL’s $90 per line price for the 9.63 million GSM lines (40 per cent of the 22.75 million GSM lines) it has to supply. As per the norms, the second lowest bidder must match the price being paid to the lowest bidder. Nokia, which had originally bid $177 per line, believes that $90 per line would be a loss-making deal. According to sources, if BSNL fails to negotiate with Nokia on the per line cost, it may offer Nokia’s quota to Ericsson. okia, the second lowest bidder for BSNL’s GSM tender, has N reportedly turned down BSNL’s $90 per line price for the 9.63
