Nepal Telecom (NT) intends to soon begin installation of mobile phones based on CDMA technology. The state-run company had introduced CDMA phones in February but has been using this system mainly to distribute fixed line phones. NT will reportedly issue about 12,000-14,000 prepaid mobile lines in Kathmandu in the initial phase.
