State-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is in the process of setting up 25,645 base transceiver stations with an investment of Rs 48.05 billion across the country. This is BSNL?s first major investment in more than five years. Under the expansion plan, about 15,000 BTS have already been installed during 2014-15.

The operator, who had been reporting negative growth in annual revenue for the past few years, witnessed a 2.1 per cent increase in its revenue during 2014-15. It added around 4.7 million active subscribers to its network during the same period.
