CtrlS Datacenters has unveiled a new data centre park in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The facility was inaugurated by Thiru M.K. Stalin, chief minister, Tamil Nadu, alongside key government officials and industry leaders. The CtrlS Chennai Data Centre Park is a cutting-edge facility comprising two data centre buildings, offering a total IT load capacity of 72 megawatt (MW).
Designed to adhere to global standards, it is built to withstand earthquakes up to 7.5 on the Richter Scale and is flood-resistant, positioned 14 metres above sea level with an additional elevation of 2.2 metres.
The facility features a dedicated 230kV gas-insulated substation (GIS) with a capacity of 120 MW, ensuring a reliable power supply. Security is reinforced with a nine-zone security system, while the carrier-neutral infrastructure, equipped with four fibre entry paths, enables seamless, high-bandwidth connectivity to cloud service providers.
The data centre park is supported by a direct investment of Rs 40 billion and indirect investments amounting to Rs 500 billion, contributing to Tamil Nadu’s economy through job creation and tax revenues. Further, the facility is projected to create 500 direct jobs and 9,000 indirect jobs.
