Sunil Bharti Mittal has been re-appointed as the chairman of Bharti Airtel for another five years, with effect from October 1, 2016. Mittal is the founder of Bharti Enterprises, which operates in various sectors, including telecom, insurance, real estate, agriculture and food. The group also has joint ventures with global players such as Singtel, SoftBank, AXA and Del Monte. In another development, Mittal has been appointed as the chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce.
