Spice Group is setting up a manufacturing unit in Uttar Pradesh (UP) with an investment of Rs 5 billion. To this end, the company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Uttar Pradesh for setting up the manufacturing unit in the state. The facility will strengthen the company?s strategy to introduce affordable mobile internet devices in India through domestic manufacturing.

Under the MoU, the state government will support the company in establishing the facility in UP in a time bound manner and also ensure provisioning of the necessary infrastructure, ecosystem and incentives under various schemes announced by the state and central government. Through the facility, the company aims to create a high quality production environment, thereby introducing a wider range of high technology mobile internet devices at affordable costs.

Uttar Pradesh has had a strong connection with our group, ever since we set up the country?s first photocopier manufacturing plant in the state.?
