According to ABI Research, operators may not generate profits from mobile internet services, despite this business stream witnessing substantial growth over the next five years.

As per the firm, the demand for these services in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America is expected to witness a compound annual growth rate of between 45 and 49 per cent between 2013 and 2018.

The firm expects the average subscriber in the Middle East and Latin America to generate at least 2.5 GB of data traffic a month by 2018, and predicts that Africa will generate consistent messaging service revenue growth over the next five years.
