OnMobile Global Limited has partnered with the Centre for e-Governance, Government of Karnataka to launch the first phase of mobile governance services in the state.

The partnership is intended to enable citizen-centric services on the mobile phone through an integrated mobile-enabled service delivery system.

OnMobile has provided the underlying technology platform for designing, developing and managing different governance-centric services over the mobile, across channels such as interactive voice response, unstructured supplementary service data and mobile browsers.

Some services introduced in the pilot phase include information services like the “Sakala” facility; utility services like electricity, water, and landline and mobile bill payments (for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited), traffic services like bus routes and timing information, and traffic alerts service and pending traffic fine payments. The platform also offers the facility to pay utility bills through multiple channels including credit cards and bank accounts using an interbank mobile payment service.
