Deutsche Telekom is reportedly set to acquire France Telecom’s Dutch mobile phone services unit Orange Netherlands for about $1.7 billion. France Telecom has invited offers for this unit as the latter was lagging behind in terms of market share. Orange Netherlands has the fourth largest market share behind KPN, Vodafone and Deutsche Telekom’s T-Mobile division. France Telecom is estimated to have received about 10 offers from financial investors and other telecom companies.
