According to data provided by leading operators to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), by the end of February 2011, about 3.83 million subscribers changed their current operator under Mobile Number Portability (MNP), according to news reports.

Of these requests, around 0.320 million came from Haryana. In the rest of the country, in MNP Zone-1 (Northern and Western India), the maximum number of requests came from Gujarat (0.36 million), followed by Rajasthan (0.31 million).

In MNP Zone-2 (Southern and Eastern India), the maximum number of reques came from Karnataka (0.31 million), followed by Tamil Nadu (0.27 million).

In contrast, operators in Jammu and Kashmir received only 1,291 requests.
