UAE’s Etisalat has awarded a contract for a large-scale commercial FTTH network to Chinese vendor Huawei.

UAE’s Etisalat has awarded a contract for a large-scale commercial FTTH network to Chinese vendor Huawei. The GPON FTTH network by Etisalat will provide high speed connectivity for both households and businesses through the use of optical line terminals and optical network terminals. Huawei has also announced that it has won 14 HSPA/WCDMA contracts in the first quarter of 2008 and that, till date, its total number of HSPA/WCDMA contracts has exceeded 100.
