Vodafone Group and Google Cloud have reportedly entered into a strategic partnership to jointly develop data services.
To this end, the two companies will ask about 1,000 workers in Britain, Spain and the United States to create “Nucleus”, a new cloud-based storage and analytics portal which will host Vodafone’s data.
According to Vodafone, Nucleus will be capable of processing around 50 TB of data per day within the cloud.
As part of this partnership, both companies will drive the use of reliable and secure data analytics, insights, and learnings to support the introduction of new digital products and services for Vodafone customers simultaneously worldwide.
As part of the six-year agreement, both companies will also develop a system called ‘Dynamo’, which can extract and transport data across different countries where the British-based telecom company operates.
