
Videocon plans to reach out to youth in Punjab to increase its subscriber numbers in the state, say news reports.
Videocon has identified Punjab as a potential market. It is looking at opportunities to deepen its market in the state by targeting youth in the age group of 15-35 years. At present youth constitutes 40 per cent of Punjab?s population.
Currently, the operator has a subscriber base of 1.5 million in the state. It plans to double its subscriber base in the state to three million by 2013.
At present, Videocon is present in 4, 500 villages in Punjab. The operator plans to extend its reach to other villages by setting up more base stations.
Videocon plans to invest Rs four billion in the financial year 2012-13 to expand its operation in Punjab.
