Motorola has signed a three-year, multi-million dollar managed services contract with Zain Iraq. According to the terms of the agreement, the vendor will operate and maintain Zain Iraq’s network and enhance its performance. The agreement follows a series of contracts signed between the two companies since 2004.
In 2008, Motorola was contracted to integrate the networks of Zain Iraq and Orascom’s local unit after the two companies merged their operations. Meanwhile, Zain has contracted NSN to migrate its Bahraini mobile infrastructure to an all-IP network capable of supporting the upcoming high speed packet access and long-term evolution rollouts in the country.
