Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) has doubled its capacity in the long-term evolution (LTE) 2100MHz spectrum band from 5MHz to 10MHz. This would enhance network speeds and internet browsing for customers based in Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Tumakuru.
The telco also has plans to improve its network by deploying recently acquired spectrum in the 900MHz band across Karnataka. The band would help the company focus on better indoor coverage in densely populated suburban and rural areas.
The company’s initiatives over the last two years have helped its customers to enjoy the benefits of e-SIM. Currently, the telco covers nearly 85 per cent of the population in the state. Vi has increased its retail presence to over 140 stores, including Vi Stores, Vi Shops, and Vi Mini Stores.
The company has established a robust distribution network with approximately 360 distributors and nearly 19,000 recharge outlets. Additionally, Vi has launched a new service zone in Davanagere with the intent to expand its distribution and service reach within Karnataka.
