HCL and Kaynes Technology have received in-principle approval from the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government to set up semiconductor manufacturing units in YEIDA Sector 10, near the Noida International Airport.
Each company will be granted 50 acres of land for this initiative. Together, they are expected to invest more than Rs 80 billion in the project. The units are projected to create more than 5,000 job opportunities in the region.
Further, applications have been submitted to the central government for approval under its scheme aimed at promoting the semiconductor manufacturing sector.
