
UTStarcom has won a BSNL tender for supplying equipment and setting up an ADSL-based broadband network of 2 million lines worth Rs 6.29 billion. Siemens and ZTE are the second and third lowest bidders respectively. As per the tender conditions, UTStarcom will get nearly 60 per cent of BSNL’s total order, while the rest will be divided between Siemens and ZTE. Alcatel, Ericsson and Huawei were among the other bidders.
