The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released its Independent Drive Test (IDT) findings for the State of Telangana under Andhra Pradesh licensed service area (LSA), covering extensive city routes of Sangareddy City in the month of October 2025. The drive tests conducted under the supervision of the TRAI Regional Office, Hyderabad, were designed to capture real-world mobile network performance across diverse usage environments- urban zones, institutional hotspots, rural residential areas etc.
Between October 7, 2025 to October 9, 2025, TRAI teams conducted detailed tests for 355 kilometres (kms) Sangareddy City drive test, and five hotspot locations. Technologies evaluated included 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G, reflecting the service experience of users across multiple handset capabilities. The findings of the IDT have been intimated to all the TSPs concerned.
In Sangareddy City, the assessment included the areas nearby Nearby Gajwel, Kuknurpalle, Duddeda, Siddipet, Ramayapet, Machavaram, Papannapet, Muslapur, Sangupet, Kandi, Zaheerabad, Aroor, Patancheruvu, Narsapur, Thunki, Kulcharam etc. TRAI also evaluated real-world conditions at 1. Gajwel Bus Stand 2. Govt Hospital Narsapur 3. Medak Bus Stand 4. Sangareddy Bus Stand 5. Siddipet Collector Office
The findings of the IDT have already been intimated to all the TSPs concerned. Key parameters assessed: a) Voice services: call setup success rate (CSSR), drop call rate (DCR), call setup time, call silence rate, speech quality (MOS), coverage. b) Data services: Download/upload throughput, latency, jitter, packet drop rate, and video streaming delay.
Airtel, BSNL, Jio and Vi had 100.00 per cent, 88.82 per cent, 100.00 per cent and 89.16 per cent call setup success rate while a call setup time of 1.00, 2.38, 0.69 and 0.74 seconds respectively in Auto-selection mode (5G/4G/3G/2G). Meanwhile, Airtel, BSNL, Jio and Vi have drop call rate of 0.00 per cent, 6.29 per cent, 0.00 per cent and 0.00 per cent respectively in Auto-selection mode (5G/4G/3G/2G) while a silence call rate of 0.77 per cent, 2.60 per cent, 3.08 per cent and 2.06 per cent respectively in packet switched network (4G/5G). Their average MOS stood at 3.95, 2.84, 3.73 and 3.74 respectively.
Average download speed of Airtel (5G/4G) is 132.27 Mbps, BSNL (4G/3G/2G) is 4.25 Mbps, Jio (5G/4G) is 225.73 Mbps and Vi (4G/2G) is 26.00 Mbps. Average upload speed of Airtel (5G/4G) is 24.85 Mbps, BSNL (4G/3G/2G) is 3.45 Mbps, Jio (5G/4G) is 17.89 Mbps and Vi (4G/2G) is 8.25 Mbps. Further, Airtel, BSNL, Jio & Vi 50th percentile latency is 38.69 ms, 45.78 ms, 32.48 ms & 39.89 ms respectively.
