Sterlite Technologies is planning to invest Rs 1.4 billion to double the annual optical fibre manufacturing capacity at its Aurangabad facility. Its current capacity is 6 million km. The company is in advanced stages of discussions with several global manufacturers and raw material suppliers, in order to streamline its efforts to meet its expansion milestones. Commercial production of 12 million km is expected to start from June 2009.
