Nokia India is planning to invest $170 million over the next 18 months to upgrade machinery and enhance capacity at its manufacturing facility in Chennai. This is in addition to the $170 million already invested by Nokia in the Chennai plant. Meanwhile, Nokia, which is planning to launch about 30 new handsets by mid2008, expects its handset prices to fall by 20 per cent every year.
