The minister of communications has confirmed that all due diligence processes from the government’s end have been completed for the entry of Starlink satellite internet service in India. The service can be rolled out as soon as it receives the required regulatory and licensing approvals from the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe), the country’s space regulator.

With the Ministry’s clearance now in place, the spotlight shifts to IN-SPACe, which has already issued a draft Letter of Intent (LoI) to Starlink. Once this document is signed by both parties, Starlink will be officially authorised to begin operations in India. According to government officials, the service is expected to launch within the next two months.

Starlink aims to offer fast, low-latency internet that is particularly effective in remote and underserved regions. The company has already launched its services in several Asian countries, including Mongolia, Japan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Jordan, Yemen, Azerbaijan, and most recently, Sri Lanka.
