Starlink Satellite Communications Private Limited is reportedly set to conduct demonstration runs on October 30 and 31, 2025, in Mumbai to showcase compliance with security and technical conditions for satellite broadband services.

The demonstration, to be held before designated law enforcement agencies, will be carried out on the basis of the provisional spectrum assigned to Starlink. These trials are a mandatory requirement for the company to secure clearances before commercial service launch.

Further, Starlink will demonstrate adherence to security norms, including the lawful interception system (LIS) and lawful interception monitoring (LIM), as well as the technical conditions outlined under the global mobile personal communication by satellite (GMPCS) authorisation.

Additionally, Starlink is aiming for a capacity of 600- gigabits per second. Based on this capacity (from the first-generation constellation) and preliminary estimates, the future number of user connections could be around 100,000. The Department of Telecommunications has currently been informed of three Starlink gateways located in Mumbai, Noida and Chennai.
