Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) expects its data revenue to surpass voice revenues in the West Bengal and Kolkata circles and the rest of India by 2014. The operator recently launched the 3G plus service across India.

Currently, data services contribute 30 per cent to SSTL?s total revenue and by 2014 the company expects data services to contribute to 50 per cent of its total revenue. SSTL?s 3G plus network is based on CDMA EVDO Rev B technology and offers data speed of up to 9.8 Mbps.

At present SSTL is offering the 3G plus service through dongles but going forward the company plans to launch Rev B compatible handsets in partnership with various handset manufacturers, such as Micromax.
