Siemens has partnered with Delta Power to deliver prefabricated, modular power solutions for data centres (DC) across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. According to both companies, the modular and scalable design is expected to cut DC time-to-market by up to 50 per cent and reduce capital expenditures by as much as 20 per cent.
As part of the collaboration, Siemens will integrate its expertise in consulting, planning and implementing intelligent electrical infrastructure with Delta’s uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, batteries and thermal management technologies.
Further, the solution will be offered in modular units where key electrical components are assembled inside containerised structures, referred to as SKIDs or eHouses. These units will be prefabricated and tested in advance by the partners and designed to be plug-and-play at the deployment site, which they claim will reduce space requirements and shorten commissioning timelines.
The companies note that the approach is expected to yield not only time and cost benefits but also environmental gains, with the modular systems potentially lowering carbon emissions by up to 27 per cent.
Additionally, the power systems will be designed using building information modelling (BIM), which the partners say will support real-time data integration into the building management system, enhancing performance, enabling quicker troubleshooting and improving operational efficiency throughout the lifecycle.
