Nortel’s move to exit the metro Ethernet networks business vertical has reportedly attracted vendors including Huawei, Cisco, Ericsson and Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN). Reportedly, Nortel is entertaining three bids of the four offers it has recieved so far and the deal value is pegged at around $2 billion. However, the company continues to weigh its alternatives before making a deal, as it is trying to determine whether its best route to profitability wouldbe to sell more than its metro Ethernet unit, which officially went on the block in September 2008.
