Sanjay Baweja has decided to quit as the chief financial officer (CFO) at Tata Communications to join the online retail firm, Flipkart. He will continue as the CFO for Tata Communications till November 3, 2014 to facilitate an orderly transition. As the CFO, Baweja was working on strategic financial management including financial reporting and compliance, treasury and fund management, financial planning and analysis, management assurance and taxation, and procurement for Tata Communications.
Before joining Tata Communications in 2009, Baweja had served as the executive president for corporate affairs and chief risk officer at Emaar MGF Land Limited. In the past, he has also worked with Bharti Airtel, Xerox Modicorp Limited, Digital Equipment and Ballarpur Industries.
