The Vodafone Group has appointed Vivek Badrinath as head of its Africa, Middle East and Asia-Pacific business. He will join the company on October 15, 2016 from French hospitality group AccorHotels, where he worked as deputy CEO. He has extensive experience in the telecom sector, having held a number of senior positions at French telecom operator Orange. Badrinath had earlier joined the company in 1996 for a short stint till 2000. He later returned to the company in 2004 as technical director, in-charge of mobile activities, and went on to become CEO, Orange Business Services, in 2010. In 2012, he was appointed deputy CEO of Orange and head of the operator’s innovation, marketing and technologies business. Badrinath joined Accor in 2014.
