The Maharashtra government has announced its plans to offer incentives to the information technology (IT) industry for establishing projects in Tier II and III cities like Nagpur, Amravati, Latur, and Satara in order to decrease the load on Mumbai and Pune.

Further, the government also aims to establish a healthcare platform that would connect public health centres, municipal hospitals, and medical institutions in rural and urban regions.

Speaking at an event held by Indian Merchants Chambers (IMC), Satej Patil, minister of state for IT said that the state government had taken numerous initiatives for the IT sector and assured full-fledged support to industrialists engaged in the sector.

The minister also said that the state government was open to accepting recommendations and suggestions from industry stakeholders.
