
Domestic handset manufacturer, Karbonn Mobiles aims to achieve a turnover of Rs 40 billion in 2013-14. The company is expecting the exponential growth in smartphones in the Indian market to help it achieve its growth target.
According to Pradeep Jain, managing director, Karbonn Mobiles, the company has been posting double digit growth over the last few years. He says that the company?s revenue for the financial year 2012-11 stood at Rs 24 billion. Going forward, Karbonn Mobiles plans to achieve sales worth Rs 80 to 90 billion by 2014-15.
Currently, the handset manufacturer assembles its devices at a facility in China. By early next year it plans to start assembling handsets at its Chennai facility which will employ more than 250 people.
Further to boost the company?s sales, Karbonn Mobiles has earmarked a marketing budget of Rs 2.5 billion for 2013-14. The handset manufacturer aims to achieve monthly sales of 1 million smartphones by December 2013.
