The government of Andhra Pradesh has provided the right of way (RoW) to Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL) for laying optical fibre cable along roads in the state for the National Optical Fibre Network (NOFN) project.

The State Information Technology and Communication Department of Andhra Pradesh has provided BBNL the authority to lay fibre alongwith roads belonging to the various government authorities such as the Roads and Buildings Department, Panchayat Raj, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, and energy and forest departments.

The government or its agencies will not levy any RoW charges, including reinstatement charges, as the infrastructure being set up by BBNL is aimed at providing broadband connectivity to local communities. Under the NOFN project, the government aims to connect 250,000 gram panchayats across the country with high-speed broadband services.
