Iron Mountain has begun discussions with potential customers to provide compute infrastructure from India for artificial intelligence (AI)-driven training and inference workloads. The company said its upcoming campuses in Mumbai and Chennai, with planned capacities of 80 megawatt (MW) and 50 MW, respectively, will be dedicated to supporting AI-led applications. At present, the data centre operator’s operational capacity in India is already generating revenue.
Additionally, as per the company, it is developing a total IT load of 150 MW and expects the capacity to be fully leased within the next two to three years.
