According to the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), India’s telecom operators need to increase their average revenue per user (ARPU) to sustain and enhance current levels of network investment. As per the association, service providers in India have shown “boldness and resilience,” continuing to invest heavily in network infrastructure despite revenue pressures and some of the lowest tariffs in the world.
Further, according to GSMA, India’s telecom operators have achieved nearly 99 per cent 4G coverage and around 82 per cent 5G coverage, but there is still room for further growth and network enhancement.
