According to the latest data by the India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA), India’s mobile phone exports are expected to cross the Rs 1.8 trillion mark in fiscal year 2025 (FY25), growing by 40 per cent over the last fiscal year.

ICEA mentioned that in FY25 so far, India’s mobile phone exports have crossed Rs 1.5 trillion because of the growth linked to the product-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for handset manufacturing. Since the launch of the PLI scheme, mobile phone production in India has doubled, from Rs 2.20 trillion in FY21 to Rs 4.22 trillion in FY24, marking an unprecedented achievement.

ICEA has estimated the production to reach Rs 5.1 trillion in FY25, further cementing India’s emergence as a global manufacturing powerhouse.
