India and the US will soon develop and deploy digital public infrastructure (DPI) in developing countries.
As per a joint statement on ‘US India Global Digital Development Partnership’, the two countries will bring together technology and resources to enable the development and deployment of DPI in developing countries. This will include safeguards to protect privacy, data security and intellectual property.
As per the statement, the US and India recognise the potential of DPI approaches for enabling open and inclusive digital economies. The governments of the two countries intend to work together to provide global leadership for the implementation of DPI to promote inclusive development, competitive markets and protect individual rights. In this regard, the US and India will explore how to partner together to align their efforts to advance the development and deployment of robust DPI.
