BSNL to launch 4G services in Patna by end of 2023

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will reportedly launch its 4G mobile services in Patna by the end of 2023.
With the advanced purchase order for state-of-the-art 4G mobile equipment already placed with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the new installation of equipment is expected to take place between September and October 2023. The new 4G hardware will be upgradable to 5G using modifications.

Currently, only 16 small towns in Bihar have partial coverage under the 4G network. Around 3,620 4G towers are expected to be installed across the state with approximately 900 being situated at Patna alone. 211 new towers will be set up across various locations in the capital city. As these sites are finalised, the 4G equipment will be installed on 600 existing 3G towers.
