Idea Cellular looking at the possibility of entering the long distance market

Encouraged by the licence fee cut, Idea Cellular is looking at the possibility of entering the long distance market if it makes business sense. The company said it would pass on 99 per cent of the licence fee cut to subscribers. Idea, in which the Birla Group holds about 51 per cent and the Tatas a little less than 49 per cent, is in the process of expanding its reach to three more circles: Uttar Pradesh (East), Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh. With this, Idea will be present in 11 circles of the total 23 circles in the country.
