Idea Cellular intends to invest Rs 4 billion for expanding its services in western Rajasthan by March 2009. Due to scarcity of spectrum in the circle, the company was earlier not able to extend its reach to some key cities including Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Barmer.
According to the company, however, with the defence forces having vacated spectrum in the circle, Idea will now be able to increase its penetration from 35 per cent to 45 percent.
