Idea Cellular has launched a pilot project to facilitate the transfer of funds from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Kerala through mobile phones, in association with Tata Communications and UAE’s Etisalat. In India, since the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) does not permit transfer of funds through the cellular network, HSBC has been roped in as a banking partner, responsible for disbursement of the transferred funds within India.
