GSMA and the European Space Agency (ESA) have signed a memorandum of intent (MoI) to collaborate and develop innovative, new satellite and terrestrial network technologies. This partnership aims to strengthen the competitiveness of both mobile and satellite network industries by creating an ecosystem that can fast-track the development of new complementary technology solutions for businesses and consumers.
The organisations will join efforts to expedite the integration of satellite communications with 5G and future 6G networks. GSMA Foundry innovation will play a vital role in this collaboration as it brings together the mobile network operator community and the technology industry to accelerate cross-industry collaboration. Further GSMA Intelligence (GSMAi) will add research and insights on key focus topics.
