Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Communications, Electronics and Information Technology and Railways, held a meeting with Atsuyoshi Koike, chief executive officer and president, Rapidus Corporation and a team from Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The two sides discussed further cooperation between India and Japan in the semiconductor design and manufacturing.
Earlier in June 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Japan’s former Prime Minister and chairman of the Japan-India Association (JIA), Yoshihide Suga. The two leaders held discussions on deepening India-Japan special strategic and global partnership in different areas, including parliamentary exchanges, investment and economic ties.
