The government has directed multi-system operators (MSOs) to register themselves with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) within the next ten days by November 25, 2022.

As per the government, failing to do this, might lead to their permissions being revoked.

Earlier, in May 2022, the MIB had asked MSOs to furnish information about head-end locations, radio frequency (RF) feed details, platform service details, CTAV distribution areas, STB seeding details among other information to state owned Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited (BECIL) officials or teams for monitoring systems.
