DoT has sought clarifications from Hutchison Essar for offering push-to-talk (PTT) facility, which does not fall under the purview of its telecom licence. It has also sought the names of the Hutch group companies that offered the service along with the list of circles in which it had been offered. Hutch and TTSL had offered PTT services and discontinued them following an order from TRAI stating that the services did not come under their telecom licence and threatened national security.
