The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has given Etisalat DB the green signal to complete its buyout of Allianz Infratech. Etisalat DB and Allianz Infratech had inked the deal in late 2008, before the three-year promoter lock-in rule was announced. Allianz Infratech was, therefore, the only company allowed to sell out completely. In May 2009, Etisalat DB had received a ‘no-objection certificate’ from DoT for the deal. With the close of this deal, Etisalat will get the 4.4 MHz of start-up radio frequencies that is held by Allianz in the Madhya Pradesh and Bihar circles.
